My how New Year's eve changes the older you get...and when you have a child! Instead of going out or blowing money on fireworks, I chose to take a more subtle approach to New Years and build something. Plus, my saw and air compressor sounds would blend in perfectly with the array of fireworks going off around me. With the upcoming completion of the bookshelves I am building for the study, I needed one additional piece of furniture to house a printer. The printer is wireless, but I do have to plug it in to the computer from time to time for scanning so a rolling cart would be ideal. These simple plans for a rolling storage cart were the perfect size to fit the printer and offer some additional storage as well. Since the entire cart is put together using 18 gauge finish nails, this was a very quick build! I had the cart put together in a matter of an hour, but it did take quite a while before that to cut all of the small pieces needed. Even the staining process was very quick, mainly because I didn't close the stain all the way the time before and I had to break through a dry layer to salvage the stain that was left. I guess stain dries much quicker when this is the case! This is definitely a cheap and space-saving addition to our study that was much needed.
